Congratulations to the swimmers who swam in the third round of the Millennium League at Tunbridge Wells.  There were 16 PB’s and 3 swimmers recording an individual time in an event for the first time. Once again, our relay teams were strong with 4 wins, 4 second places and 2 third places finishes. Unfortunately, two relays ended in disqualification due to early take-overs and we were not the greatest at ‘doggy paddle’ finishing 5th, albeit, we were the most stylish with all swimmers keeping their heads above water which was not the case for some of the other teams!!

Notable PB’s for Vincent Mason who took just over 6 seconds off his 50 metre Backstroke, Oliver Thomas and Nathan Martin who both took 4 seconds off their 50m Freestyle, Alexandru Frosin who took 8 seconds off his 50m Butterfly and Paige Cutler who took nearly 13 seconds off her 50 metre Breaststroke time. Special mention to both Leo Dedman and Sam Brooks who have PB’d in all their individual events this season. Great achievement boys.

It was announced on the night we had finished second, but after the results were checked, it was noted Eltham had been awarded 6 points for a relay in which they had ‘time faulted’. With Eltham being deducted these 6 points and all other teams gaining a point, we ended up as joint winners.

Finally, thank you to Liberty, Gemma and Natasha for their help poolside and Steve Pye and Steve Anscomb for judging.

The fourth and final round is on Saturday 30th September at Eltham Leisure Centre. This should be a great evening of swimming with only one point separating Eltham and ourselves. I will be sending invites out soon.
