Well done to all the swimmers who swam in the second round of the Millennium League at Eltham. Out of the 32 individual swims, there were 18 new PB’s and 6 swimmers recording an individual time in an event for the first time. Once again our relay teams were strong with 4 wins, 6 second places and 2 third places finishes. Unfortunately one relay ended in disqualification due to an early take-over, which was a shame as they did win with seconds to spare.

Jenson Petter made his DDSC competitive debut by swimming a new PB and winning his event.  Notable PB’s for Rosie Jackson and Paige Cutler who took 4 seconds off their previous 50m Front  Crawl and Backstroke respectively, Oliver Thomas and Leo Bouton who took 5 seconds off their previous 50m Backstroke and Fly times, Sam Brooks who improved his 50m Fly time by 6.5 seconds and Afua Agyepong who improved her 50m Backstroke time by 7 seconds.   Special mention to Charlie Hollidge and Millie Aram who both swam new PB’s which is more difficult as you get older.

We ended the night in first place which places us second in the league with two more rounds to go.

Finally, thank you to Liberty, Gemma and Rachel for their team management and support poolside , Steve Pye and Steve Anscomb for judging and our Millennium Team Captains , Charlie and Gracie, for supporting all our team of swimmers.

The next round is on Saturday 8th July 2023 at Cygnets Leisure Centre in Northfleet.  I will need to change some of the swimmers for the next round as many are very close to ‘time faulting’.  I will be sending invites out soon.
