Kent Junior League – Round 2 Results

KENT JUNIOR LEAGUE 2023- ROUND 2 – 24/06/2023

Well done to the whole KJL team who once again showed true competitive spirit against even tougher competition. In the individual events, we achieved 15 PB’s out of a total 32 swims, which is commendable as you are all competing more regularly and some of you had swam the 1500 metres the previous evening. Notable improvements were made by Charlotte Johnson who knocked more time off both her 100m Backstroke and Breaststroke, Georgia Collings who improved her 50m Butterfly time by almost 4 seconds, Kayden Manning who improved his 100m Breaststroke time by another 3 seconds and Madison Perez who improved her 100m Butterfly time by 3 seconds. Biggest PB of the night was for Aaryan Bisht who improved his 200m IM time by 37 seconds. Congratulations also to Rocco Pallen who won the 10 years 50m Backstroke and 11 years 50m Butterfly and Georgia who won the 10 years 50m Butterfly.

Disappointingly some our team members were over eager and we suffered 5 disqualifications for moving before the starting signal or taking a ‘flyer’ in the relays. This did impact our overall score on the night, and dropped us from 11th in the league to 13th out of the 20 clubs in the league. However, we will still be competing in the ‘B’ Gala Final with the teams who finished 8th to 14th and hopefully without so many disqualifications we will finish higher.

Finally, huge thanks to Amy and Gemma for looking after the children poolside, Lucy who officiated for the club, Esmee for supporting me and doing the relay split times and all the parents who came to support.
