Following a major incident at Fairfield Leisure Centre, the Club now insist no swimmer
is dropped off or picked up from the car park. All parents must ensure their child
is on poolside with their coach in attendance before leaving. Parents must ensure
they are at the Leisure Centre at least 5 minutes before the end of the session to
pick their child up. No child should be left unattended once they have left poolside.
The club takes this opportunity to remind parents our coaching staff are only responsible
for your child whilst they are on poolside.
If anyone has any concerns regarding this matter please speak with a member of the
committee or coaching staff.

Being the final gala before Fairfield pool closes for refurbishment it was great
to see the centre full with so many spectators, and this serves as a timely reminder
to the council, of the need for a suitable spectator’s gallery. I will start by thanking
all the swimmers for making my first experience of being the Team Manager of the
Millennium team truly memorable. All of you contributed to a very pleasing result
with ‘personal bests’ being achieved in 30 of the 32 individual events during the
evening. Whilst these fantastic swims resulted in the team being penalised in 10
events by picking up ‘time faults’, please be rest assured myself and your coaches
are extremely proud and take great satisfaction in seeing you all swimming so well.
A special ‘Well done’ to all our debutantes, who used all their nervous energy by
swimming some great times in the pool, and not forgetting our older swimmers who
participated in their weaker strokes but all managed to achieve personal bests. Some
strong relay results and a great squadron victory at the end of the gala helped the
team to a very satisfactory 3rd place on the night.
A big ‘THANK YOU’ to all the poolside helpers and officials for making the evening
run smoothly. I look forward to the next round at Maidstone Leisure Centre, Mote
Park, Maidstone on Saturday March 15th. The team sheet will be on the notice board
