TUDOR LEAGUE 3 RD LEG
TUDOR LEAGUE 3rd LEG
ELTHAM POOL SUNDAY 20th APRIL
GLORIOUS IN DEFEAT!
The dreaded words ‘Time fault' were muttered again and again at lane end Sunday evening as John Willis looked over from pool side despondently waiting the thumbs up or down for confirmation that his swimmers were smashing PB's in the water.
In true testimony to the training efforts that all the swimmers had been putting in, they all seem to peak on competition nights. In open competitions this would be marvellous but in graded events where restricted times prevent the faster swimmers from competing it makes for difficult team selection. Congratulations must go to all the new Personal Bests achieved, I hope you are all keeping your swim logs up to date!
The consistently top form relay team was Kelly Rogers, Charlotte Poultney, Ellie Thomas and Bethany Halsey who won both of their U/12 relays. Real commiserations must go to the final Squadron Team who pulled a dramatic win in the final two legs with Jaime Binder and Tony Molloy peaking only to be time faulted by ½ a second.
The final result was a third place behind Bromley and Greenwich but still leaving the league wide open.
Thanks once again to all the Mums and Dads who gave up a Sunday evening when they could have been in front of the TV, on the sofa in a horizontal position, and also to the hard working officials (who didn't spot at least three DQs-no names, no pack drills)
See you next weekend at the Millennium, when I promise something special and also at the Biathlon on Sunday (whoopee)
Keep swimming
Kevin Ladley
