It may have been Guy Fawkes week but there were no ‘damp squibs' in the pool at Whitgift for the second round of the Speedo League. Once again a depleted Dartford squad (due to Whitedarts commitments and injuries) took on some mighty teams in this National League event. Nothing can be taken away from the ‘fireworks' that occurred in the pool.
We were never to be able to compete with the likes of mighty Canterbury and Redhill/Reigate but we certainly gave Larkfield, Croydon and Eltham a run for their money.
It would be unfair to name individuals in a magnificent team display but suffice to say that the Girls 11/u and 15/u ‘sparkled'.
A very creditable fourth place was an excellent result but indicates how much we need the full squad for next year's events.
Well done swimmers. See you all in Dover this weekend!
