DARTFORD 'S TRIATHLETES

DARTFORD 'S TRIATHLETES

Dartford swimmers once again showed that there are other ways of enjoying a Sunday when a number of young ladies had success in the regional heats of the Modern Pentathlon Triathlon held at the magnificent Whitgift School , Croydon.

The competition involves a cross country run, pistol shooting and swimming working on a handicapped points system.

Jaime Binder and Jenna Pembroke finished 2 nd and 4 th respectively in their age group, both completing the 200m swim section in a very impressive 2m 31s.

They will be joined in the National finals, to be held at Wolverhampton , by Sally Nicholas whose 1m 10s, 100m personal best swim took her to overall 6 th place in the Girls Youth D group.

The other girls were there by no means just for the ride, all showing running and swimming personal bests. Along with Sally in the Youth D section, Georgina Ladley came 8 th with 1m 12s swim, Chelsey Eyers 11th, 1m 15s and Jordan Porter 14th with her 1m 23s. All girls have promised to work on their running and shooting skills for future competitions.

By a cunning use of smoke screens, wires and mirrors Kevin managed 1 st position in all disciplines and also qualified for Wolverhampton in the Masters section. (…..he was the only entrant-Ed)

Many thanks goes to all the families that supported the competition and members and friends of DDSC that helped with the running of the events. Good luck to all of our ‘National Triathletes' in November
