Congratulation to Hazel Tew

Last year Jeremy Kite, Leader of Dartford Borough Council launched the Dartfordian Award and Medal to recognise the huge contribution that local people make to the community.
The Committee are delighted to let everyone know that our President and Chair, Hazel Tew, has been awarded this Medal for her services to swimming.
In his letter Mr Kite wrote
'It is no small thing to dedicate yourself to others, or to your community, and the pleasure to recognise such a contribution is proudly mine'.
We hope you will join with us in wishing Hazel many congratulations

Squad Name Changes

From the 1st January 2012 we will be changing the names of the squads as follows.

GOLD SQUAD will be re-named ‘JUNIOR TOP SQUAD’.  (Coach: Neil Tew)

The reason behind this change is to reflect that this squad comprises of our best junior swimmers and emphasises that the same standards of approach and attitude to training is expected of the swimmers in this squad as our ‘Top Squad’.

SILVER SQUAD will be re-named ‘GOLD SQUAD’. (Coach: Stephen O’Neill)

The upper end of BRONZE SQUAD will be re-named ‘SILVER SQUAD’.  The new SILVER SQUAD will be coached by John Willis on Friday evenings and at Fairfield Pool on Tuesday evenings. This proposed change clarifies the difference in abilities currently within the Bronze squad and more accurately reflects progress made by our younger swimmers.

ALL OTHER SQUAD names will remain the same.

There are no proposals to alter any training times or venues and fees for all squads will remain the same.

ALL SWIMMERS will be notified of their new squads in December when the assessments are completed.
